HIHSS, provides an environment in which every student realizes his/her full potential. Here we motivate the students to be firm on principles and judiciously use their freedom to the welfare of others. Special attention is given to extra and co-curricular activities as mere academic excellence alone is not sufficient for the building of character. Rounded skills are required to prepare the children to face the future and become worthwhile citizens.
Founder : Vadakkeveetil Makkar Moideen Haji, a very enthusiastic visionary laid the foundation for this school in the year 1921. The school started to function with an LP section of 5 classrooms, accommodating 120 students. Kaithavalapil Kochuni Paniker was the first Headmaster. The school was upgraded to Upper Primary in 1967 and further to High School in 1979. The High Secondary Section commenced in the year 2000.

The Kindergarten was established in the year 2000. It has Play Class, LKG and UKG sections. Around 100 pupils are studying in the Kindergarten.
HIHSS, Edavanakad was establised in 1921. It is owned and managed by Irshadul Muslimeen Sabha.It is affiliated to Kerala State Board. It has classes from I to XII. At present the strength of the School is 2000.
The School is artistically equipped with ample facilities for studying, working, and playing. The Management focuses on the amalgamation of discipline and intergration, bringing out co-ordination of competitiveness and co-operation, technology and humanism, quality and economy, excellence and service, self development and social sensitivity inorder to scale greater heights. Sky is the limit!
HIHSS,former studentsin 2014 started HISAA, inorder to foster the spirit of loyalty,unity and love. It is not just a mission of a bunch of enthusiastic students, but also an endeavour socially committed citizens. The association renders all possible help in the developmental activities of the school. HISAA has donated a school bus as a token of their love and gratitude to the school.
